There are no clues that lead to suspicion on any suspects in
this case; there are only incidents that point to the cause of death being
suicide. For example, the over one hundred incidents of harassment that the
police concluded were self-inflicted. A few of them include, repeated incidents
where a nylon sock was tied around Cindy James’ neck, setting fire to Cindy
James’ basement, and having a note stuck through her hand with a paring knife. A
clue that points to suicide is the fact that no fingerprints were ever found at
any of the incident reports. Also, whenever Cindy was questioned by police, she
wouldn’t fully answer their questions, which lead them to believe she was
fabricating some the information and situations. Finally, she was mentally ill;
she had lost her job because of it and had been admitted to a psychiatric ward
in the area. These pieces of evidence suggest that Cindy James committed
suicide; however, there are no more pieces of evidences that confirm it to be a
fact. To this day, police are still unsure of what exactly happened to Cindy
James, which is why this case remains as an unexplained death.
